Perfection is rarely achieved in movies, but this heaven-sent concert doc hits the sweet spot. The blessed thing took nearly half a century to come out because director Sydney Pollack failed to sync the image with the sound. Then digital angels stepped in, and glory, glory, hallelujah! By Meredith Woerner. Deputy Editor, Variety. I wanted to take a step away from screens and computers. I was just alone in my studio with all these instruments.
I wanted to recreate that feeling. That made me inspired to go to the piano, play the piano. It was like a puzzle coming together. His impulse was reaffirmed the moment he played it for showrunner Jon Favreau. So it would be really fun to do a little jam session sometime.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian [easy - abridged].The propulsive theme for The Mandalorian not only redefined Star Wars music, it's also become the soundtrack for millions of people's motivational playlists.
It's tempting to compare the Swedish composer to what Vangelis did for sci-fi with Blade Runnerbut even that falls short. The Mandalorian Season 2 will also incorporate new sounds and musical styles as the show expands beyond what we saw in Season 1.
There's also a lot of new characters and new places we're traveling to. I just saw you accept your Mandalorian Emmy with your new baby. Did being a dad change the way you curated a playlist of songs? People always ask me why are Swedish producers and artists so success [in music.
I get that question a lot. And that question has made me think I should have a good answer. Apart from the great music education, we have in Sweden, in elementary school and high school — I went to a musical elementary school where we sang in the choir every day — I also realized that Sweden has great children's music. Some of the children's songs best songs were written by Swedish jazz musicians.Viktor and rolf flowerbomb 50ml best price
This is a long way of saying that some of the songs on the playlist are children's songs that I grew up singing in Sweden. My perspective on music changes all the time.
Having my son has changed my music perspective in a lot of different ways. Is there anything new people can expect from The Mandalorian music in Season 2? In Season 1, all the sounds, all the themes, all the music was new. And then, people didn't connect the music with the imagery right away.
It wasn't until the last few episodes that people started recognizing the themes, and connect with it in a different way. Which brings us to Season 2.
Suddenly, people are very familiar with the Mandalorian theme. When people hear the first note now they feel a lot of different feelings. You could have fun with it in a different way. In Season 2, it's a different kind of payoff now, when you hear the theme. I've been able to do a lot of different iterations. Stylistically it's kind of all over the place. It's almost like my Sonos playlist. And that's what I love about film scoring.
What I get to do with film scoring, depending on what project it is — I figured this out at an early age — you could score anything from jazz to metal to classical. Once I figured that out, and moved to LA and began working on film composing, then I'm working on this show, and I can bring all these different genres into this one show. I'm able to blend genres with The Mandalorian and bring in different instruments from all over the world and then tie it together with production, but also, the five-piece orchestra for each episode.
So, Season 2, musically, is all over the place. But I think it still feels connected like it did in Season 1. Has there ever been pressure to throw-in a familiar John Williams score or motif? I really like the last couple of Star Wars movies and I like the music from those movies, too. Even when it's different composers. When you already have the John Williams score, and you're instructed to work within these themes that are really famous.Cao + co2 balanced equation
I mean, they're the Star Wars themes.Season two of The Mandalorian began with an episode that was everything we expected and more. A few pieces of rumored casting were confirmedsome long-time questions were answeredand episode writer-director Jon Favreau gave fans a story straight from an old-school Hollywood Western with the biggest action set piece the show has ever seen.
Finally, after a year awaythis is the day. Vanth is the role Timothy Olyphant was rumored to play, and so it seemed very likely Din Djarin Pedro Pascalour titular Mando, was going to find him, a Marshal—and very much not a Mandalorian—in a suit of Mandalorian armor on Tatooine.
A suit of armor that, maybe, once belonged to Boba Fett. Season two begins on a new planet, from what we could tell. The ensuing scene basically includes everything fans had seen of season two up to this point, in the first five minuteswhich is just so cheeky of Lucasfilm. Beyond that though, Koresh aims to double-cross Mando—he just wants his beskar armor and has set a trap for him.
Interestingly enough, those creatures, and the whole city in fact—covered in curious graffiti—felt like a place we may need to come back to as it seemed ripe for exploration and analyzation. But no matter. Mando wants to get the Child back to his people, he thinks Mandalorians can help, and he finally has the whereabouts of a Mandalorian on Tatooine. This is the way. He somehow has a location now and that means Peli needs her map Instantly my nostalgia meter flew off the scale.
Think about that. R5 ending up here, and not with the Lars family, is truly one of the most significant moments in the entire Star Wars galaxy. Truly an awesome little callback.
After that, Mando is off to find what used to be Mos Pelgo, a town that no longer exists as far as Peli is concerned. What I appreciated about this moment is that Mando actually had to travel. In Star Warswith spaceships and lightspeed, travel always feels instantaneous—even when people go to a planet, they always know exactly where to go. You live on a street, in a town, in a state, in a country, on Earth.
But you never get that huge global scale in Star Warsso to see Mando travel across Tatooine was a nice touch. One of those ways this series likes to ever-so-slightly deal with Star Wars nitpicks. And make no mistake, for the most part, it is, ruminating over the bounty hunter landscape in the wake of The Return of the Jedi with the titular character hunting a mysterious prize. We first observed this with Luke Skywalker craving to follow in his hotshot father's footsteps as a pilot, and feeling like he missed out on life by also not knowing his mom.
In both cases alone, you can see how at-risk Force-sensitives could go astray without the right parents guiding them. Last but not least, in the new trilogy Rey's journey has been about her trying to discover more about her parents as well, thinking they're what made her the next Chosen One.
He's even hidden in a scene evoking Rey being tucked away in The Force Awakensand clearly this created PTSD that the hunter would live with for years to come.
He has the block turned into a shoulder pad with the forger revealing the excess will be used and presumably sold to aid "foundlings. Through this act of benevolence, he's already adopted the role of a shadowy father-figure, wanting to ensure help is offered to kids like him.
Most likely, his generosity and overall philanthropy is for them to not follow his path. He doesn't need any emotional connection to them, but this is his way of looking out for them from afar as a reluctant guardian, akin to old Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine looking after Luke. Those may be more direct roles than the Mandalorian, who keeps his distance, but he's clearly an unofficial dad here. This comes full-circle at the end when he finds a toddler belonging to Yoda's species on his big mission.
Rather than let IG kill the baby, the hunter puts the droid down and as the descriptions for the next two episodes reveal, he'll be going on the lam with it. But the very end of this episode hints it's more than an asset to him. Rather than keeping it alive to collect more money, we can tell he feels the pain and loss of being an orphan and relates to the year-old kid. I'm a former Chemical Engineer. It was boring so I decided to write about things I love. On the geek side of things, I write about comics, cartoons, video games, television, movies and basically, all things nerdy.
I also write about music in terms of punk, indie, hardcore and emo because well, they rock! And yes, I've written sports for them too! Not bad for someone from the Caribbean, eh?
To top all this off, I've scribed short films and documentaries, conceptualizing stories and scripts from a human interest and social justice perspective. Business-wise, I make big cheddar not really as a copywriter and digital strategist working with some of the top brands in the Latin America region.
